| Description of the problem | Low beam driver side headlight is out and goes out when replacing bulb. I always take my car to the mercedes dealership, where i purchased new in 2007, for maintenance. Service rep says the wiring in headlamp is corrosive and needs replacing. My husband looked at the wires and they seem to have melted. The lights have to be replaced at $350 each (x2) and the labor as well to remove the bumper and put in the new lights. This seems to be an issue w/ these cars and needs to be corrected or recalled. I've never heard of another vehicle doing this, nor costing nearly $1000 to replace two headlights, which is crucial for safety. I have looked to see if there are any recalls but have not seen any. Please advise if there are. |
